A Californian man who wrapped his Tesla Cybertruck EV can’t quite believe his truck’s wrap isn’t the default color.
American YouTuber Meet Kevin wanted to make his Cybertruck look even more menacing, so he decided to wrap the EV in something new and fancy.
A wrap is a quick way of changing the color of a vehicle without having to fully repaint it, and wraps can, with care, also be removed from the car.
This YouTuber, however, thought the wrap on his car should have been the default color, as it looked so good.
Why the YouTuber thought this color should be standard
This truck in particular was just ten days old, so getting it wrapped so soon is certainly a bold move.
It was actually the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast, the ultimate version of the controversial electric pickup truck.
The wrap itself was quite a simple matte wrap, with the truck now in a striking dark gray.

You could argue it looked like an F-117 Stealth Fighter, even if it isn’t quite the matte black of the airplane.
It is actually the matte finish that really caught the eye of the YouTuber.
He felt that this was the icing on the cake.
Why the matte finish was such a winner for this Tesla Cybertruck
Meet Kevin noted one interesting aspect of the stock Tesla Cybertruck finish.
“I had a bunch of fingerprints all over it, which you don’t see anymore,” he said in the video.
Many owners of the truck feel the stock, stainless steel-style finish attracts too many fingerprints to the vehicle’s body.
So this new, matte finish basically hides all of the fingerprints due to the new texture of the finish.

“I think now you’ve got a car where the black interior matches the style of what you have outside,” the YouTuber added.
Clearly, the YouTuber was over the moon with the new color.
He actually felt this is what the truck should look like as standard.
It certainly makes cleaning the Tesla a lot easier.
Matte wraps seem popular for the EV
Various other people online seem to have wrapped their truck similarly.
One person wrapped theirs in a matte-white finish.
That earned the approval of Tesla boss Elon Musk.
Another company went for a more rugged, all-rust look for their truck.
The Cybertruck has been controversial since its launch, thanks to its strange design.
But many have tried to find ways to improve its look.
Giving it a matte finish is certainly one way to go about that.
