These Californian YouTubers drove a whopping 3,000 miles in a McLaren GTR with the aim to conquer America’s wildest mountain road.
The road in question was a wild ride, with twists and turns that could make an F1 track jealous.
But to get there, they first had to embark on a road trip from California to the border of Tennessee and North Carolina.
Once they got there, they made it their mission to put the McLaren GTR to work.

The US is connected by some major roads, some with very interesting stories.
For example, there’s a road in North Dakota that’s become famous for swallowing up the toughest off-road vehicles.
Plus, a Nashville road oddly has a specific speed limit of 24mph, but there’s a good reason behind the rule.
Some roads go one step further thanks to mountainous terrain.
That’s the case with this road, and these YouTubers planned to conquer it.
YouTubers Vehicle Virgins decided to take a McLaren and Nissan GTR 3,000 to what they said was the best road in the world.

The road in question was the Tail of the Dragon, which has been described as America’s version of the Nürburgring.
The road is bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest with no intersecting roads or driveways to hamper drivers.
It is considered the destination for thousands of motorcycle and sports car fans throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
“It’s best to be cautious as the turns are tight, but the Tail of the Dragon is guaranteed to be the ride of your life,” the Tail of the Dragon site warned.

So, eager to experience it for themselves, the YouTubers started the momentous journey, stopping off along the way to break the trip up.
They even stopped at the Breaking Bad house to make it worthwhile, too.
Upon reaching the road, it was clear that the excitement was building.
“The scenery is absolutely insane,” one of the guys explained.
“I actually can’t believe that we drove 3,000 miles across the country to drive our cars on a road, everyone around is kind of like flabbergasted that we drove this far, but there are some other people out here from Florida,” he explained.

They also explored some surrounding roads around The Tail of The Dragon alongside the ‘Tree of Shame’ that housed components of wrecked cars from the road.
It really was a playground for car enthusiasts far and wide.
