This Canadian business jet is the fastest plane since the Concorde and just set a new Montreal to Paris record.
Bombardier’s current plane is the Global 7500, which has been flying since 2016.
The Global 7500 already holds an impressive 100 city-pair speed records.
And when you see how quickly it got from Montreal to Paris, you’ll be wanting to book a flight.

Ever since the Concorde ceased operations in 2003, people have been clamoring for another supersonic jet.
There was the Radian One spacecraft, which had been touted as being 11 times faster than the Concorde.
Over in China, a company had developed something twice as fast.

And then, of course, there is the much talked about ‘Son of Concorde‘, which is exactly what it says on the tin.
Even the Soviet Union was trying to get in on the action back in the day.
But now it’s a Canadian company that wants a piece of the supersonic pie.
Bombardier has been working on the Global 8000 for a while now, with it poised to be the fastest non-military jet since Concorde.
The business jet is set to reach a top speed of Mach 0.95 and boasts an impressive range of 8,000 nautical miles.
However, it’s got big shoes to fill.

Or whatever the plane equivalent of shoes is.
The Global 7500 is still in operation and made a visit to Paris for the air show recently.
Departing Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, it landed at Paris-Le Bourget 5 hours and 30 minutes later.
It covered this distance at speeds of 621MPH, a new record between these two cities.
A previous record held from Paris to Montreal was just under six hours.

This is no small feat either, as there are 3,200 miles separating the two francophone cities.
Here’s the really exciting thing to think about – there’s an even better jet on the way.
What speed records will the Global 8000 be capable of when it comes around?
The mind boggles, and we eagerly anticipate its release in a few years.
