A California-based specialist, Canepa, has taken the iconic Porsche Carrera GT supercar and reimagined it in the most extraordinary way possible, complete with an Amelia Island debut.

The Carrera GT is still regarded as one of the best supercars ever made, thanks to its mighty V10 power and a six-speed manual transmission.

Now, specialist Canepa has taken the stunning car and created the Carrera GT SC, making the extraordinary car even more incredible.

The upgrades have included some to the exterior and interior, which have also included a comprehensive restoration and some subtle upgrades.

How Canepa modified the Porsche Carrera GT

Taking the covers off at the Amelia Island Concours, the Porsche Carrera GT SC (Sport Canepa) is stunning.

The most notable detail is the Liquid Metal Green exterior, which is paired with matching mesh under the hood.

This color was never offered by Porsche when they launched the supercar.

Gloss black headlight bezels and dual exhaust pipes enhance the look further.

That exhaust system has also had an upgrade to deliver a slight power increase.

Canepa also added a custom roll hoop in exposed carbon fiber, plus plenty of matte carbon detailing in the engine bay.

Gorgeous five-spoke magnesium wheels are another addition, with anodized black center locks.

Matte carbon is also in the engine bay, while under the bodywork is a KW suspension.

This includes an integrated lift kit.

Inside the supercar, Canepa has also worked its magic.

Standard materials have been replaced with cream leather and Alcantara, covering most surfaces in the cabin.

The front has also received the new color and material.

The specialists have kept the aluminum and carbon fiber accents, a classic feature of the Porsche.

Canepa has also been sure to maintain the signature wooden gear knob that Porsche gave the Carrera GT.

Under the skin, the tricky clutch has had an upgrade, improving the usability and drivability.

The company has been tight-lipped, however, on how much power its upgrades have given the supercar.

Not wanting to rest on its laurels, the company has announced that another Carrera GT SC is on the way.

Commissions are also being accepted for those wanting this treatment on their own Porsche Carrera GT.
