It is entirely possible that the Capricorn 01 Zagato might not be a car you’ve ever heard of.
But trust us – it’s a hypercar that could be about to announce itself in a big way.
The collaboration has resulted in gullwing doors, a manual gearbox, and 888hp.
Oh – and it’s all brought together by a supercharged V8 engine.

What exactly is the Capricorn 01 Zagato?
Okay – you might be wondering what exactly it is we’re talking about.
But don’t worry, because it will all make sense in just a moment.
Zagato is one of the world’s premier coachbuilding companies.
You might have seen its name attached to Aston Martin, Bentley, and Alfa Romeo.
But the marque has recently begun focusing on building and designing its own models.
And it has partnered with a fairly unknown Germany company to do so.
The company in question is called Capricorn – and the creation is truly something to behold.
It’s called the Capricorn 01 Zagato, and it is absolutely stunning.
For one thing, Zagato given the coach-built hypercar comes with gullwing doors.
Let’s be honest – nobody can hate gullwing doors, can they?
So, as stunning as it is on the outside, you’re probably wondering what powers this hypercar.
It turns out that this Capricorn 01 Zagato is powered by a 5.2-liter V8 provided by Ford.

The powerplant comes equipped with a supercharger and a dry-sump system, rotating assembly, intake cooling assembly, and exhaust.
In case you were wondering, the end result of all of this is a 9,000rpm rev limit.
One is also provided with ‘over’ 888hp and 738lb-ft of torque.
The partnership with Capricorn is something that has captured the imagination.
It is most known for producing carbon fiber components for motorsports.
Capricorn has used that expertise to produce a carbon monocoque, subframes, and body panels for the 01 Zagato.
These parts all combine to provide a hypercar that weighs less than 2,700lbs.
The numbers back up the hype – and there are still some left
Okay, so you know about the design and the engineering – but what about the numbers?
It will hit 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds, and come with a top speed of 224mph.
All of the ‘pure’ performance enthusiasts should be especially delighted by the Capricorn 01 Zagato.
Because all of that power is channelled through an old-school, five-speed manual gearbox.
Capricorn CEO Robertino Wild is delighted with the choice of manual transmission.

“[It] is a decision that deliberately prioritizes driver engagement and passion over the need for more gears,” the CEO said.
So, you’ve seen the numbers, the engineering, and the design – but what about if you want one?
There are still some allocation spots, but Capricorn is only building 19 units of the hypercar.
Naturally, the price is on application, so we don’t actually know how much it will cost.
But the brand is adamant that it won’t be the last car it ever produces.
