This one-of-one $19,000,000 carbon-fiber La Voiture Noire pays homage to Jean Bugatti’s lost Type 57 SC Atlantic and remains the most exclusive modern Bugatti ever built.
Created as a rolling tribute to the brand’s artistic and racing heritage, the car was designed to honor a missing prewar icon that has become pure automotive legend.
Built entirely from carbon fiber, which was shaped by hand, the bespoke hypercar blends a timeless, old-world elegance with modern engineering prowess and drama.
With a price tag that makes it one of the most expensive new cars of all time, La Voiture Noire is less about numbers and more about the incredible mythology behind it.

The carbon-fiber La Voiture Noire is possibly the rarest car ever
La Voiture Noire, which translates to The Black Car, is an incredibly exclusive supercar based loosely on the Bugatti Chiron but reimagined as a one-off spectacle.
Every part is unique, with a smooth carbon-fiber finish that took thousands of hours to perfect; it’s so smooth it looks like a mirror.
The silhouette seems to flow uninterrupted, with no visible seams, creating a long, dramatic car that prioritizes elegance and style over aggression and sharp corners.

At the rear, six exhaust tips hint at the power hidden within, while subtle aerodynamic elements are mixed into the design.
Its incredible power comes from Bugatti’s 8-liter turbocharged W16 engine producing around 1,500 hp, ensuring that the car performs like a modern hypercar despite its classical roots.
Inside, the cabin features a lovely brown leather finish, polished metal accents, and bespoke details that make it a work of art rather than a weapon on the track.

Inspired by Jean Bugatti’s lost Type 57 SC Atlantic
The car’s inspiration goes back to one of the most mysterious vehicles in automotive history: Jean Bugatti’s personal Type 57 SC Atlantic.
Only four Atlantics were ever made in the 1930s, and Jean’s black one simply vanished during World War II, never to be seen again.
Its disappearance transformed it into a mythical object, often described as the most valuable and sought after lost car in the world.

La Voiture Noire pays direct homage through its dramatic flair and flowing body, especially its iconic spine that runs the length of the hypercar.
That ‘spine’ is a modern reinterpretation of the original Atlantic’s seam, which had iconic old-timey rivets down it, and it is now reborn in the Voiture Noire as a design piece rather than a necessity.
By resurrecting the spirit of the missing Atlantic in carbon fiber and modern engineering, Bugatti has turned a lost legend into a living one.
Only one La Voiture Noire exists, and it was sold privately to a mystery buyer, and of course, in true Bugatti fashion, exclusivity is guaranteed because you’re paying for a piece of history.
