Tesla cars are renowned for saving drivers extraordinary sums when it comes to charging vehicles in comparison to gas, but insurance is another matter entirely.
The company has already faced a widescale insurance issue, having to launch its own cover and policies in certain states to avoid huge fees.
But which Tesla model actually gets you the best deal?
Well, the answer is the car that you’d least expect.

Cheapest Tesla insurance model is not what you would expect
Tesla cars are becoming more affordable by the day, with the popular EVs lowering costs across the board ahead of new models.
But the electric vehicles do suffer from high insurance premiums, which can sometimes make the cheaper charging costs redundant.
If you’re hellbent on getting one, though, there’s a surprising challenger among its ranks for the most affordable to own.
According to a recent study by Insurify, the most affordable model to insure is the Cybertruck.

Yes, that Millennium Falcon wannabe costs people significantly less to insure than the best-selling Model 3.
The study claims that the average price for a Cybertruck insurance policy is $3,392 per year.
That comes in nearly 50% more than the average car, but 17% less than anything else Tesla can offer.
Of course, this study is US-only, given the limited usage of the Cybertruck worldwide, such as in the UK.
According to the study, the Cybertruck is followed by the Model S, Model X, Model Y, and then the Model 3, in order from cheapest to most expensive.
Why is the Cybertruck the cheapest to insure?
Most of the reasoning stems from the demographic of the drivers. There are, though, notable differences in age and correlating credit scores,
For instance, the $80k trucks resonate with more experienced road users in comparison to the affordable Model 3 and Ys.
All Teslas are on the expensive side where insurance in concerned, joining the likes of the Ford F-150 Lightning on the list of cars way above the national average for EVs.

Other drivers have reported massive costs for Cybertruck insurance costs, claiming that the US State can serve as a bumper for Tesla cars.
In fact, in a bid for cheaper premiums, one influencer shared her hacks to reduce those inflated insurance costs.
