You actually won’t believe what brand has overtaken Tesla as America’s fastest-growing EV brand.
People might think it’s an automaker that specializes in EVs like Rivian, or a popular foreign EV brand like China’s BYD.
In fact, you have to look a lot closer to home to find where people are starting to get their EVs from and it may surprise you to find out that it’s a legacy brand that’s zooming to success with EV sales.
People have been looking to this American marque for their car needs for years, but it seems that the EV versions of classic models are flying off the shelves and outselling Tesla.

Tesla isn’t America’s fastest-growing EV brand anymore
Tesla used to be the only player on the EV market when it rocketed to popularity back in 2012, but there have been countless developments in the sector, with new EV specialist brands forming as well as traditional legacy brands dipping their toes in the water.
Basically, Tesla had to keep constantly evolving or risk being taken over, and – finally – after a long time at the top, its lead has been usurped.
Many believe that new EV companies like Rivian or Lucid might be to blame and some point to the notable popularity of BYD in it’s domination of China and more recently, Europe.
But maybe many failed to notice that an old American legacy brand had been quietly smashing records in the background.
Surprisingly, the fastest-growing EV brand is actually… Chevrolet.

You read that right…
Yep, you read that right, Tesla’s domination of the EV market has been surpassed by an old American company that’s been around for years.
Even more embarrassingly for Tesla, this is one of many attempts by the American automaker to try and get its EVs off the ground and this time it happened to work.
Forbes reported that Chevy not only surpassed Tesla in the fastest-growing EV brand category, but also overtook Ford as the country’s second-largest EV automaker.
This is an impressive rise to fame for Chevy considering its three main EVs were all launched in 2024, the Equinox, Blazer and Silverado, with the Bolt coming back.
Tesla needs to watch its back, because Chevrolet is coming for its crown, and it means business.
