A heavily modified Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV recently ran the 1/4 mile in just over 10 seconds at a drag strip.
YouTuber Calvin Nelson, aka Nivlac57, owns the upgraded SUV, a 2008 Trailblazer that has undergone some serious modifications.
The factory engine under the hood now produces an incredible amount of power, thanks to the assistance of turbocharging and other upgrades.
Despite the speed shown in the video, the YouTuber suggests that there’s still more time to come from the rocket of an SUV.

The Trailblazer produces over 1,000HP
Under the hood, the Chevrolet SUV still has a straight-six Vortec 4200 engine as it did from the factory.
However, thanks to the changes made by Nelson, the Chevy now makes 1,004HP, a massive increase from the standard.
Much of the extra power comes from the addition of turbocharging, thanks to the VS Racing G42 turbo.
Nelson says the SUV has homemade exhaust and intake manifolds, as well as a tractor-trailer intercooler.
Running the car on E85 octane gasoline means the SUV can maximize the full potential of its powertrain upgrades.
With all these additions and modifications, it’s no surprise Nelson got the power level to over 1,000HP.
Nelson described the Chevrolet as the ultimate sleeper.
Early in the video, Nelson described the Trailblazer as the ‘ultimate sleeper SUV’ and it’s easy to see why.
Around five minutes into the video, we see the 1/4 mile run from the Chevy that reveals its full performance.
An earlier run saw it achieve a pass time of 11.870 seconds with a top speed of 101.9MPH.
But with a few tweaks and adjustments, the Trailblazer was able to achieve an impressive 10.79 seconds and a top speed of 128.43MPH.
What made it more impressive was that Nelson said there was more time left on the table.

This was the SUV’s first proper outing on the dragstrip on this setup.
So that run was more of a trial than a full-on performance attempt.
That means the Chevy still has a lot of potential that’s yet to be unlocked at the time of writing.
Future videos from Nelson may reveal what the Trailblazer is really capable of.
