A new electric Silverado is on the way as an off-road Trail Boss edition is lined up for 2026, and the Chevrolet EV truck is reported to have an astounding range that could completely change the game.

It might seem rather on the nose, but the range is a massive selling point when it comes to trucks.

Especially when they are electric, having moved on from the endless searches for the best miles-per-gallon rates.

Nowadays, range is king, and the new electric Silverado is on a conquering war path.

New electric Silverado is changing the EV truck game

The Chevrolet Silverado is one of the most complete EVs in America.

So much so that the new 2025 left car fanatic Shaquille O’Neal bereft of ideas on how to customize it. Because it’s already perfect.

The Chevy has even run circles around the Cybertruck, dominating towing tests. And it’s catapulted the company to the second-best electric car seller in the States.

Now, the new electric Silverado is upping the ante as the Trail Boss package is set to charge it up to an industry-leading 493 miles of range.

The beastly vehicle pumps out 775hp and is built with longevity in mind – both for the short-term long-haul journeys and future-proofing against competitors.

It’s no slouch either, hitting 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds. The EV truck can then cruise across over half the width of Texas in one charge.

How does it stack up against the rest?

Well, if the 493 miles max range is to be believed, this would make it the best that the United States can offer for fully-electric trucks.

Quite ironically, if all reports are to be believed, it would beat the reigning champion by a single mile.

Said champion is supposed to be the Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck package, when that arrives later this year. Talk about competitive siblings.

Other models boast ranges of over 400 miles, such as the GMC Sierra Denali and Rivian R1T Max.

The range game was supposed to be upped by the Edison Future EF1-T. But it seems that the upcoming truck has been canned.

Chevrolet is aiming to release the new electric Silverado upgrade in 2026, where it could take cross-country travel to the next level.
