Someone landed on a gold mine with this Ohio barn find — a 1968 Chevy Chevelle Malibu with ‘Concours’ badging that had been sitting in a garage for 16 years.
Your average Chevelle models make for excellent restoration projects, but this probably outshines them all.
Why is that, you ask?
Because of its Concours badging and rare interior parts, it’s an extremely rare example — a one of three.

Man finds ultra-rare 1968 Chevy Chevelle in Ohio
A collector and YouTuber found this sitting in a garage in Ohio and decided to take it out to see if it was any good.
It certainly was, so he took it to his place and posted a video about it on his channel Hotrodtempest.
In the footage, he mentioned that this Chevy Chevelle was basically in pristine condition.
That’s a rare occurrence for most barn finds these days, even for abundant models — let alone rare ones.
This car, however, was actually in pretty good shape.
Apart from some damage to the exterior and the floor inside, time wasn’t all too harsh on this classic car.
Moreover, the YouTuber went through a quick maintenance session of the engine bay and got it running without any problems.
He also started it, and the engine turned on perfectly after only one try.
Not just any Chevelle
The ’68 Chevelle Malibu came with a Chevy 307 engine paired with a two-speed Powerglide transmission.
Although it was in decent condition, the YouTuber said that he might replace it with something larger and more powerful.
Additionally, this Chevelle was rare, which is interesting since thousands of Chevelle Malibu models were made.
At the time, GM was struggling with sourcing interior parts for some of its models, so some cars, like the Chevy Chevelle, got their interiors from other models.
Approximately 10,000 units got them from another car, so these had the Concours badging instead of the standard Malibu.
However, only three of them managed to feature Chevy’s Buick trim split bench seats.
This example has those seats, so it’s one of the total three that ever existed.
It’s not a wildly significant factor, but it can certainly be the difference for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The YouTuber said he had plans to restore it, and we hope he did.
