This man converted his childhood Corvette bed into a fully drivable 130 horsepower go-kart.
While many folks would take their old childhood furniture to the dump, one car enthusiast decided on a different route.
He repurposed his old red plastic bedframe, designed to look like a Corvette, into a fully functional go-kart.
And the result is actually pretty incredible.

The Corvette bed has been given an engine
We love weird and unusual custom builds, like this bike that was made using a wheel from a tractor, or this 2004 Toyota Prius that was converted into a Cybertruck-lookalike known as ‘Cybercop’.
Elsewhere in the world of strange and unique vehicles, YouTuber Bummotorsport decided to turn his old Corvette bed into the real deal… sort of.

As you might imagine, turning a bed into a drivable mini car, is no mean feat and the YouTuber spent hours on the build.
He began by building a roll cage and a frame for the bed, before fitting it with some new wheels and tires.
Of course, being a bed, he also needed to fit a steering system to get it road-ready and add in an engine.
The engine the YouTuber opted for was a Suzuki GSX-R750, which would give the go-kart an impressive 130 horsepower.
With all the hard work done, it was time to admire his handiwork.

“That is looking incredible,” he said. “That is looking pretty sweet.”
While the go-kart does indeed look pretty sweet, the YouTuber wasn’t finished with it just yet.
He had some more upgrades and modifications to make before taking it out for a spin.
World’s weirdest DIY go-karts
Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time someone has converted an old Corvette into a go-kart.
Texas auto-technician Gilbert took the engine from a Honda CBR600 F4 bike and fitted inside a Corvette bedframe to create the ‘Poorvette’.
“It’s basically the poor man’s Vette,” he told Supercar Blondie.
“When you can’t buy an actual Corvette, you build your own.”
Gilbert’s go-kart ‘Vette came complete with metallic red paintwork and he’d even kitted out the interior.
As well as looking the part, it’s also pretty powerful with its creator admitting it’s ‘probably faster’ than he’d like.
