After buying a damaged McLaren 650S Spider for just a fraction of the price of a new one, this YouTube mechanic has installed a Chinese bodykit from Temu, and the result is impressive.
The McLaren 650S is one of the more impressive supercars in the range from the UK manufacturers.
But its $140k ballpark price can be afforded by very few people.
So, how about buying a crashed version and installing Chinese aftermarket parts for a cheap rebuild?

YouTuber gets a Chinese bodykit for his McLaren 650S
The Temu craze is officially hitting the car industry as more and more people are heading to the Chinese e-commerce site to buy body kits or entire ‘Cybertruck’ vehicles.
Taking over from the likes of Alibaba – which sells complete cars nowadays – Temu has become a flagship site for people looking to get cheap parts for expensive supercars.
YouTuber ‘The Inja‘ has now ported in a $6,200 widebody kit from the site for his McLaren 650S, and has put it to the test in a recent upload.

The content creator bought a crash-damaged 2016 McLaren 650S for one-fifth of its original selling price, managing to land it for $38,500.
Since then, he’s building it up with a Chinese bodykit on the front and has recently been making some final adjustments to the exterior.
This time, he decided to add a more aggressive widebody look with the kit from Temu, but it took some tough work.

Many of the parts of the kit come without holes and drill parts, which resulted in the YouTuber having to make his own.
The kit also needed grinding down as the lip didn’t fit the car, which required some steady handwork that not every mechanic would be able to do.
But, after securing every piece of the bodykit, the end result was quite stunning.

“This bodykit completely changed the whole presence of the car,” The Inja said.
“Just look how low and aggressive this car looks now. This is one of the coolest 650s ever built.
“In my personal opinion, it is the perfect blend of aftermarket aggressive kit and stock.”
Given McLaren cars are so expensive, building or restoring them are very popular choices, and this Temu version appears to be one of the better-looking projects we’ve seen.
A restoration of the $1.3 McLaren Senna might take the gold medal though.
