Christian Bale drives a surprisingly humble car every day despite being worth over $100,000,000

Christian Bale made a fortune playing Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy.

While he drives Batman’s Tumbler on set, Christian Bale actually drives something very different off camera.

And it’s not a new model either, the particular car he drives is over 20 years old.

But there’s a very good reason he refuses to let it go.

The reason why Christian Bale drives a humble car

Christian Bale is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy.

However, his daily driver is a far cry from the Batmobile or Pininfarina’s Batman supercar.

Despite being a multimillionaire and once the highest-paid actor in the world, Bale apparently drives a 2003 Toyota Tacoma.

And even though he’s allegedly worth over $120 million, he says he wouldn’t let it go for the world.

In an interview for the press tour for the film Ford V Ferrari, in which Bale plays race car driver Ken Miles, Bale and his co-star, Matt Damon, addressed Bale’s love for the Tacoma.

“I guess it’s surprising because people have this idea that Hollywood stars drive the nicest cars,” the interviewer said.

“What are you saying, the Tacoma is not the nicest car?” Christian Bale joked.

And when the interviewer said it’s a 2006 truck, Bale promptly ‘corrected’ her.

“2003, thank you very much. And second hand!” he said.

He said he had a very good reason for holding onto it too.

Bale explained that he doesn’t really see a reason why he should change his cars as long as they work.

Well, we can’t fault his logic.

Amazingly, this isn’t unusual

As surprising as it may seem, Christian Bale is certainly not the only wealthy public figure who doesn’t drive a flashy car.

Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, for example, could literally buy a brand new Bugatti Chiron every day for the next 100 years and still be rich, and yet, he’s often spotted driving a Honda Fit.

And the same goes for billionaire investor, Warren Buffett.

He’s the ninth richest person on Earth with a net worth of $152 billion, and yet he drives a 10-year-old sedan.

Imagine that.
