Company launches ‘B plates’ in the UK for drivers who are bad at one thing
- B Plates have been launched by a UK company as a trial
- The stickers are intended to alleviate anxiety like the P and L plates
- But they might be more of a gimmick than a real problem solver

A company in the UK has just launched ‘B Plates’ that will serve as warnings from one road user to others for a particular part of their driving skills – or lack of.
Given its Christmas, the season of giving is nearly over.
But if you know of one driver in need of a helping hand, this might just be the belated present or a New Year’s gift that ticks all of your boxes.
UK company Scrap Car Comparison has drawn inspiration from the classic big red L stickers and launched their own B Plates to warn other road users of drivers’ particularly woeful parking.

UK company launches ‘bad parking’ B Plates
We all know at least one person who is just horrendous at parking. Whether they’re that entitled dingbat neighbor who parks across two bays, the in-law who simply cannot parallel park, or your partner who has come home with a bollard-inflicted dent on the rear bumper of your car. We all know one.
Even the most luxurious of drivers get pulled up on their parking.
Well, now you can warn other drivers if you’re a terrible parker by adding ‘B Plated’.
Much like the learner’s L badge or the green ‘probationary’ P (also known as ‘passed’), the B Plates are stuck onto the body of your car in big bold letters.
Scrap Car Comparison claims, “around 17% of drivers surveyed said they often feel stressed or worried about having to park, with 14% feeling embarrassed.”
The B Plates are intended to relieve this anxiety for the driver and nearby road users.
“Whether as a bid for forgiveness or in an attempt to relieve some pressure while completing a maneuver, drivers will be able to tackle their driving deficiency head on.”
Currently, the B Plates are rolling out as a free sample, but the company intends to ramp up interest before turning on the fee button.
Car stickers that describe certain driving habits are not a new phenomenon, as we’ve seen the ‘Kids on Board’ signs plastered in windows.
These have soon warped into trends like ‘Muggle on board’ for the Potterheads, ‘Pommeranian on Board’ for the pooch lovers, or even ‘Black box fitted, sorry’ signs to fend off slowcoach criticisms.
Still, I’d rather not be branded with B Plates. Although maybe that’s a belated Christmas gift worth handing out to that special someone in need of a backhanded telling-off.
