Like something out of Storage Hunters or American Pickers, this guy was gifted the keys to an abandoned storage unit after putting down $500. What was inside made the risk worth every dime.
Gary Oldman’s – or more accurately, Sirius Black’s – wise words of “What’s life without a little risk?” always come to mind when people buy ‘mystery’ abandoned storage units.
Without being able to see through the bolt-locked doors, who knows what really lies behind the metal sheet?
Well, this one abandoned storage unit in Connecticut had one of the best surprises yet, in the form of a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

This abandoned storage unit was hiding one hell(cat) of a surprise
Car enthusiasts have made fortunes by discovering old bangers locked away, which turn out to be prime vehicles for restomod projects.
Some people have made up to $7.5 million on a single $500 storage unit.
While this interesting find isn’t quite a million-dollar ticket to stardom, Instagram user ‘blacksvq’ found a Dodge Challenger Hellcat sat behind one red storage unit door.

As soon as the unit doors slid upwards, the engine was by a flashing hood, and while it was covered in thick dust, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat looked to be in great condition.
It even fired up first time and sounded incredible.
The buyer is quite a sports car enthusiast, often showcasing his pristine Infiniti G37S modded up to the nines, but this find only adds to his collection.
Some people have questioned the legitimacy of the video, given that they had the keys in their pockets when walking up to the unit.
But one thing is for certain… this beast does not deserve to be caged, and should be purring down Interstate 95.
Someone unshackle these Dodges
It wouldn’t be the first time that a Dodge has been found abandoned in storage.
Previously, one man’s heart dropped as he found a Ram 1500 in dire straits inside a unit, and this priceless American vehicle was given a second chance at life.
For the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, all appeared to be in working order and in much better shape than the Ram.
They definitely won’t have as much trouble restoring it as this ‘cheapest’ Challenger Redeye…
With hope, the Challenger can get back into its prime form as one of the most dominant muscle cars in the country.

While it wasn’t the most luxurious abandoned storage unit story of all time, it’s a chance for a prime car to get back on the road, in the hands of a capable expert.
