While some folks are more than happy to splash the cash to get the car of their dreams, others prefer to be a little more frugal.
If you fall into the latter category, then you might be interested to know that one cheap small SUV has earned a name for itself as one of the best you can buy in America when it comes to value.

Consumer Reports recently compiled a list of the best value cars on the market, and it placed the 2025 Hyundai Venue right at the top.
The Hyundai Venue comes with a super affordable starting price tag of just $20,200.
Consumer Reports praised the Venue’s good safety features, easy-to-use climate and audio controls, surprisingly roomy interiors, and – of course – its affordable price.
The organization noted that it has good brakes and an easy-to-handle engine.
Not only is it cheap to buy, but the Hyundai Venue is also cheap to run, offering 32 miles per gallon.
It was also ranked highly on Consumer Reports’ top reliable cheap cars.
Praised for its ‘practical layout’
Consumer Reports isn’t the only company that has sung the praises of the Hyundai Venue.

The car took the top spot in Car and Driver’s list of cheapest SUVs, thanks to its impressive value for money and ‘long list of standard tech and safety features’.
It was also highly regarded by Edmunds in a roundup of the cheapest new cars, where it was branded ‘the most affordable crossover SUV on sale today’ with a ‘practical layout and solid features’ which make it ‘worth your time to check out’.
