If you’ve ever felt hungry while out in the wilderness, perhaps what you needed was a Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Just ask this couple traveling in India, who fired up their EV to cook up a scrumptious meal of eggs and toast.

It was all thanks to their Hyundai Ioniq 5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature, which allows the car to act as a mobile power source.

In fact, powering up a grill is only the beginning, because the car can do so much more.

The couple, who were traveling on a national highway in India, decided to make the most of their journey by preparing a meal.

Instead of trying to cook on their dashboard, they decided the sensible thing was to take advantage of their EV.

They set up an induction cooktop, powered by their Ioniq 5’s V2L outlet, and began cooking eggs and toast.

Some eggs in the pan, bread slices alongside, a quick flip, and voilà: a roadside omelet was served.

According to Hyundai, users can power a number of household appliances directly from the vehicle’s battery.

For example, you can plug in your laptop to make a mobile office, or a camping site with an electric grill, lighting, and inflatable air mattress.

You can even plug in something entirely frivolous, like a table lamp.

The Ioniq 5 will also be useful during power outages, as it can power essential appliances like refrigerators.

And while the V2L feature is great, the car itself is no slouch.

The Ioniq 5 is a premium electric crossover SUV, boasting a a 72.6kWh lithium-ion battery, which offers an impressive range of 392 miles on a full charge.

It is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) features, which allows it to power other EVs in a pinch.

This will definitely come in handy when your buddy’s Tesla runs out of battery in the middle of nowhere.

It also supports 800V fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

Whether it is making futuristic hydrogen-powered cars, or purchasing tens of thousands of robots to speed up production, Hyundai is proving to be quite an innovative carmaker.
