Abandoned 1987 BMW M6 restored after 35 years
There’s a massive number of abandoned cars primed for restoration across America.
But most are discarded because of a range of mechanical issues or passing owners.
But this 1987 BMW M6 was simply forgotten to be loved by ‘Dr. M’, whose sons have made it their goal to get it back to its beautiful self.
In a surprise event for their dad, these lads took the BMW M6 to AMMO NYC, which is known for detailing extremely dirty cars through YouTube.

Described as “the most disgusting BMW I’ve ever detailed,” the M6 was physically growing its own algae and mold. It even had its own mice nests.
“I’ve cleaned LOT of dirty cars, but for the first time ever I’ve had to use a screwdriver to unclog the exhaust.”
But AMMO got to work nonetheless. While stripping out the interior, the team blasted the exterior with every power tool available.
After a brutal process of cleaning, scrubbing, washing, cleaning again, and glossing, the car was eventually turned back around to be nearly back to new.

The engine still needs some work, but for the most part, the 1987 BMW M6 was brought back to life.
So with it back in great condition, it was time for the sons to bring it to their dad, and his surprise was hard to contain.
“Oh my god, look at this. I love it,” the doctor said.
“I have some work to do, but I tell you what, you brought it back to life, oh my god.”
With emotions running high, the dad explained that the car held dear memories of road trips to Rochester, and he’s now planning to take it to Alaska.
The BMW M6 joins an impressive collection of restored vintage cars throughout the states, such as this recent 1972 Dodge Charger clean-up after being abandoned for three decades.
