Two YouTubers bought a crash-damaged 2008 Mercedes ML63 AMG V8 SUV and managed to fix it for under $40!

The Mercedes was replacing the 260,000-mile Porsche Cayenne V8 they had previously been using to tow trailers around the UK.

Buying from Copart, the SUV cost less than $15,000 because it had been written off due to an issue with the rear-left suspension.

Incredibly, though, for less than $50, the two YouTubers from Top Dead Center were able to get this V8-powered SUV back on the road again.

What was wrong with the 2008 Mercedes ML63 AMG V8?

The damage was on the rear-left suspension, and it was quite clearly bent out of alignment.

However, the SUV drove fine, there was no other damage, and the interior was in excellent condition.

The YouTubers suspected it was just a suspension arm that was bent, but that it could be replaced.

With the wheel removed, they could see that the suspension assembly was bent.

That had led to the extreme camber and toe on the wheel.

The YouTubers were able to find a replacement part for the rear-left suspension, including new brakes.

New tires were also bought for the SUV, as the ones it came with had cuts and damage.

Getting the Mercedes ML63 back on the road again

After removing the old suspension arm, they could see just how bent it had become.

The new arm was installed, as well as the new rear brakes and pads.

With the new suspension arm installed, it was easy to see how much difference it had made.

The SUV now sat straight on the ground, with the camber now as it should be.

With that sorted, the two YouTubers and the team carried on fixing some of the other issues with the car.

Some of that included polishing up the scratches where the car had been hit.

One of them was also fixing a leak on the air suspension, a problem that was thrown up as an error code.

With these sorted, the team could get the ML63 back on the road again.
