This Dodge Dart driver had to take her car to four different shops before she found somebody who could tell her what was wrong with it.

It took a Georgia father-and-son team of mechanics to figure out what the problem was.

The duo, who work at Royalty Auto Service, shared the story to their TikTok.

Many fans applauded them for getting to the bottom of the issue.

What was wrong with this Dodge Dart?

To demonstrate what was wrong with the car, the dad tried to start up the car, only for it to make a stuttering noise.

He said: “Listen closely, because most people are going to say it’s a bad engine.

“There’s no compression right there.”

But surprisingly, this wasn’t an issue with the engine.

How do they know that? Thanks to a diagnostics trouble test, which identified ‘ASD/Main Circuit’ as the culprit.

As reported by The Daily Dot, they compared the code to a diagram of the car’s circuit and identified that it wasn’t the engine at fault.

They decided that a compression issue was occurring, thanks to a loose fuse.

The mechanic explained: “So this fuse, was in here, you can see the fuse has been very hot and this fuse was just sitting in there wobbling around.”

Once the issue was resolved, the car was turned back on.

Rather than the pained sputtering sound from before, a smooth-as-velvet purr came from the vehicle.

Loose fuses are more common than you might think.

According to Jorge Alonso Auto Repair: “If any of the fuses fall out or easily come loose then that may be a sign that some of the panel’s terminals may be damaged.

“A damaged terminal with a loose fuse may cause electrical problems such as sudden, intermittent power loss to certain accessories or lights.”

The internet reacts to some great mechanic work

Given that the customer had been going from shop to shop with no answer, you can imagine how relieved she must have been.

Viewers online were impressed by the skill demonstrated by Royalty Auto Services and commended them in the comments section.

One Tiktoker wrote: “This is why people do not trust most mechanics. They don’t spend the time to actually troubleshoot or don’t know how to. You are an amazing tech.”

Another said: “As a mechanic, this is true troubleshooting, you guys are next level, great content!!”

You can always rely on mechanics to get to the bottom of tricky car situations – like when this python got stuck in a BMW’s engine.

And as if that wasn’t enough of a shock for a mechanic, another was greeted by a 100 year old car pulling into his shop.

You never know what’s going to roll into your garage on a given day.
