Elon Musk just shot down any future hopes of Tesla building an electric motorcycle.
The statement comes amid fans’ wishes for the brand to give it a try.
But the Tesla CEO is emphatic that the brand will never make one.
And this is the interesting reason why.

Today’s story actually comes from quite an intriguing source.
Because it is not something that Elon Musk himself has done.
Instead, it involves the Tesla CEO reacting to a fan on social media.
Twitter/X user Moandbhr recently posted an obviously AI video.
The video in question features Elon Musk.
It also features Musk admiring what looks like an incredibly advanced, motorized unicycle.
Never happening, as we can’t make motorcycles safe.

For @CommunityNotes, my near death experience was on a road bike.
Dirt bikes are safe if you ride carefully, as you can’t be smashed by a truck.
The video is captioned:
“Mr. Elon Musk Just Revealed the Game-Changing Tesla Motorcycle.”
The short clip shows the CEO getting onto the motorcycle and riding off amid cheers from the crowd.
Interestingly, the video has received a lot of traction (no pun intended).
In fact, it has garnered over 3.1 million views in just three days.
One of those views came from Elon Musk himself.
The brand CEO actually reacted to the video featuring himself.
“Never happening, as we can’t make motorcycles safe.”
“For Community Notes, my near-death experience was on a road bike.”
“Dirt bikes are safe if you ride carefully, as you can’t be smashed by a truck.”

This is not the first time that Elon Musk has addressed two-wheeled ambitions for Tesla.
Back in 2019, the idea of an all-electric ATV was floated on social media.
And the CEO appeared to receive this idea positively.
However, Tesla’s chief figure has always rejected the idea of a road-going motorcycle.
“Electric dirt bikes would be cool too. We won’t do road bikes, as too dangerous. I was hit by a truck & almost died on one when I was 17,” Musk wrote in his post.
Could these remarks point to a future for electric off-road bikes instead?
Such an option could prove to be extremely popular across the world.
For those of us who love road-focused machines, however, it appears that this is one dream that will never be realized.
