A small European country has been named the best in the world for drivers in a huge global survey.

A study from 0-60 Specs looked at the driving world and which countries were the best, and many in Europe came out on top.

On the podium in third and second place, respectively, were Sweden and Hungary, but there was another country entirely on top.

Europe dominated the top ten, and incredibly, the United States wasn’t able to break inside it, let alone the top five!

How did this tiny European country come out on top?

The global index evaluated 146 countries, and Lithuania came out on top with a rating of 86.81 out of 100.

Lithuania received a very high score when it came to both safety and car traffic in the study.

The country scored ninth for safety and fourth for traffic, while it achieved a perfect score for road quality.

It outshone its fellow European nations, allowing it to be ranked the best in the world.

However, Hungary ran Lithuania pretty close in the final rankings.

Hungary scored 85.32 out of 100, with it also earning a perfect rating for road quality.

Behind it came Sweden, scoring 80.67 out of 100.

But it had the highest safety score, and like American supercar rules, it set new standards for safety.

Its score of 98.31 for safety helped it jump up the order, despite being 110th best for traffic conditions.

Some countries fared badly in the study

As with this study on the quantity of EVs on the road, both the top and bottom made for interesting reading.

At the very bottom of the list was Guinea, scoring just 30.66 out of 100.

It was virtually at the bottom when it came to both road quality and safety.

Haiti, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo all suffered equally low scores.

Sudan was another badly rated country, suffering mostly when it came to infrastructure and safety.

Incredibly, in the top ten, there was just one non-European country.

Even Australia didn’t break in, despite it trialing new safety features on its roads, such as glow-in-the-dark lines.

The only non-European country was Bahrain.

It made it into the top echelon as a virtue of its excellent traffic flow.

But the country struggled when it came to safety, as it was ranked just 55th.

A European country was ranked in every other top ten position, as the continent dominated.

But it was Lithuania that came out as the best in the world.
