Novitec has taken the Tesla Model Y and made it darker and meaner.

It’s always hit or miss when it comes to pimped electric cars but this time we’d definitely call this a ‘hit’.

The Model Y is a bit boxy and Novitec tried to fix this by lowering the ride height and fitting new side skirts.

The goal was to make the electric SUV look a bit more slender and sleek and it’s definitely worked.

According to Novitec, these mods reduce drag and improve the car’s range by as much as seven percent.

For reference, the dual motor Model Y has a range of 330 miles (513 km).

To complete the look, Novitec also added 22-inch Vossen wheels and a new rear lip spoiler.

However, there’s an elephant in the room and we need to address it.

It comes in the form of the front grille that’s integrated into the car’s modified bumper.

EVs don’t need grilles, which means Novitec only made these changes for extra bonus points.

We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether it works or not.

On a side note, kudos to Novitec for incorporating a rear diffuser that looks like a quad-tip exhaust system.

As standard, the Tesla Model Y comes in with vegan leather seats and a relatively unassuming cabin.

Novitec customers will be happy to know that the interior can be customized at will.

You can go for virtually any color and virtually any material you want, including Alcantara.

Novitec hasn’t provided any information about pricing but we’re probably looking at a five-figure sum.

And on the subject of money, Tesla recently slashed prices in the US and Europe by up to 20 percent.

The Long Range Model Y now starts at $52,990, which means it is $13,000 cheaper than it was last week.

More importantly, all Model Y trims are now eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit.

Just a few days ago, the IRS said the 5-door Model Y wouldn’t receive the tax credit because it wasn’t considered an SUV.

However, the government agency did a complete 180 after facing backlash from Tesla and its customers.
