F1 drivers are usually drawn to glitzy cities, but Valtteri Bottas has gone in a completely different direction.

Instead of Monaco penthouses or London townhouses, he’s chosen rolling hills and vineyard views in South Australia.

It’s about as far from the typical Formula 1 lifestyle as you can get.

It might seem like a strange choice, but after seeing the star’s home setup, it’s hard to argue with the choice.

You can actually stay in the property

Nestled in McLaren Vale, just outside Adelaide, Bottas’ vineyard home feels more like a place to host a luxury yoga retreat than an F1 driver’s home.

However, Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas, who has won a total of 10 Grands Prix over the years, clearly wanted a change of pace.

After spending years competing at the very top with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, he now splits his time between racing and this peaceful slice of heaven.

His connection to Australia comes through his partner, Tiffany Cromwell, who partly inspired the move.

And what a move it was.

The property stretches across scenic vineyards, some of which date back nearly 70 years, producing grapes used in local wines.

Bottas describes it simply as ‘paradise’, and it’s easy to see why.

With endless cycling routes, a private gym, nearby beaches, and even a traditional Finnish sauna overlooking the landscape, it has everything he needs to stay in shape while away from the action.

And in case you’re wondering, yes, you can actually stay in the vineyard.

In fact, the prolific F1 driver even mentioned that he greets the guests personally when he’s there, having even carried a couple’s bags in the past.

Valtteri Bottas prefers the simple life

Of course, this laid-back life contrasts sharply with the locations that many other F1 drivers choose to live.

The tiny principality of Monaco remains the go-to hotspot, home to stars like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, thanks to its tax benefits and proximity to the racing calendar.

Others prefer cities like London or Milan for a mix of culture and convenience.

Valtteri Bottas, though, has embraced something different.

He prefers the idyllic property for its space, quiet, and deeper connection to life outside the sport.

It’s a mindset shift he credits, in part, to stepping away from Formula 1 briefly before returning with a renewed appreciation for racing.

These days, when he’s not pushing limits on track, he’s enjoying vineyard views or relaxing in a sauna with arguably one of the best backdrops in the world.

For a driver who has experienced the intensity of Formula 1 at its highest level, the ultimate luxury is actually peace and quiet.
