It was a good night for this car-spotter when he came across F1 world champion Lando Norris and his Ferrari F40 on the streets of London.
The stunning car cut a distinctive figure in the British capital, as it would anywhere in the world.
But perhaps it was the famous owner that really made this F40 stand out from the crowd.
Much like its owner, this Ferrari had star quality written all over it.
If there’s a city renowned for its amazing cars, it’s London
London is a truly global city in so many ways, from its food to its people.
But its internationalism extends to its car scene.
You can just about find any car on the streets of the capital, and they’re all mesmerizing in their own ways.
Whether driven by Saudi billionaires or Supercar Blondie herself, the city is a big draw for the automotive’s best offerings.
It’s no wonder then that London is swarming with car spotters, armed to the teeth with cameras and desperate for a sighting.
They often strike gold, as they did when this ‘billionaire sandwich’ came driving down the street.
But that was mere nuggets compared to what one YouTuber came across.
Lando Norris and his Ferrari F40 were out to paint the town red
To see a Ferrari parked anywhere is a special treat for any car lover worth their salt.
But for it to be a F40 is doubly special.
And then on top of that, for it to be Lando Norris’ car? Talk about a real treat.
YouTuber TFJJ is an exotic car spotter and they landed themselves with a real gem on this particular outing.
Parked on a quiet London street, Norris’ F40 looked like a total knock-out.
Norris himself looked very casual, returning to his car in a hoodie.
It’s not clear whether he’d come out of a nearby restaurant or had walked from further away, but he didn’t pay the car spotter much attention as he bid his friends farewell.
Back inside the F40, he smoothly drove away.
Handled like a true pro.
Even on a street with no fanfare, Norris still has the air of a celebrity – and a lot of that comes from the aura of his F40.
History of the Ferrari F40
1984 – 1986: Five units of the 288 GTO Evoluzione are built to compete in FIA Group B racing. When this event was cancelled, a chief engineer convinced Enzo Ferrari to use the chassis as the foundation for a new road car.
June 1986: Project F120 is commissioned, with a prototype set to be complete within 11 months.
July 1987: The F40 debuts at the Civic Centre in Marranello to commemorate 40 years of the carmaker.
August 1988: Enzo passes away at the age of 90, leaving F40 cemented in history as the final signed-off car.
1989: The car debuted at the IMSA GT race at Laguna Seca.
1990: US-spec models went into production.
1992: Production wraps up, after 1,311 road units.
1994 – 1996: A race-prepped F40 GTE competed in the BPR Global GT Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, securing wins in both.
