When it comes to super-fast supercars, McLaren certainly knows a thing or two – but which of their models is the fastest supercar?

Since the carmaker was founded, McLaren has always kept a heavy focus on speed and performance.

Keeping to that formula has meant that, over the years, the British marque has produced some of the fastest vehicles ever produced.

But, of course, only one of them can hold the title of fastest supercar McLaren ever made.

McLaren 12C – 204MPH

The McLaren MP4-12C – later rebranded as the 12C – was introduced in 2011. It marked the brand’s official return to creating road-going cars

The sleek-looking sports car came with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 12C had a carbon fiber ‘MonoCell’ monocoque, which was lighter than McLaren’s previous alloy structures.

Its lighter weight combined with its 592HP V8 could push the McLaren 12C from 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds. And gave it a top speed of 204MPH (328KMH).

McLaren Artura – 205MPH

McLaren launched the Artura in 2022 and is the marque’s first V6 hybrid.

The stunning Artura is kitted out with an all-new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which is paired with an electric motor to produce a combined output of 671HP.

As well as a newly designed engine configuration, the Artura features a new carbon fiber chassis called McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture – or MCLA for short.

The marque says the Artura can hit 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and can manage the quarter mile in just 10.7 seconds. It also has a top speed of 205MPH (330KMH).

McLaren 650S – 207MPH

The McLaren 650S was announced in 2014 as a new model, but was based on the 12C. The 650S, though, featured 25 percent new parts compared to the older vehicle.

Among the parts it kept is that lightweight carbon fiber chassis and the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged M838T V8 engine. But for this model it was boosted to 641HP and 500LB-FT of torque.

The 650S earns a spot in the list because it can do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 207MPH (333KMH).

McLaren Senna – 208MPH

The limited edition McLaren Senna was unveiled in 2017 and is the third vehicle in the McLaren Ultimate Series, alongside the F1 and the P1.

The car was specially designed and built with speed in mind. It comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that can produce a whopping 789HP and 590LB-FT of torque.

Unlike the P1, the Senna doesn’t have an electric motor which makes it a little bit lighter. The marque also made use of numerous aerodynamic elements such as a roof scoop and rear wing.

The Senna can do 0-60 in around 2.8 seconds and hits a quarter mile in 9.9 seconds.

It boasts a top speed of 208MPH (335KMH).

McLaren 720S – 212MPH

The McLaren 720S went into production in 2017 and is the second all-new vehicle in the marque’s Super Series.

The car, which replaced the 650S, comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that has an output of 750HP and up to 568LB-FT of torque.

The British brand says the 720S can hit 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and do the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds. That’s similar to the Senna, but the 720S has a faster top speed of 212MPH (341KMH).

To help the 720S maintain stability while hitting such blistering speeds, the vehicle comes with ‘Variable Drift Mode’. Smart.

McLaren P1 – 217MPH

The flagship McLaren P1 went into production in 2013 and is regarded as the spiritual successor to the F1.

The P1 is fitted with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine alongside an in-house developed electric motor – the pair, when combined, can offer up to 903HP and 664LB-FT of torque.

So it’s a pretty powerful car, to say the least.

As you might expect, that power translates into speed, and the P1 can manage 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 9.8 seconds.

It has an electronically limited top speed of 217MPH (350KMH).

McLaren F1 LM – 225MPH

The McLaren F1 LM was essentially a road-legal version of the McLaren F1 GTR.

The vehicle was fitted with a 6.1-liter V12 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and could produce 671HP and 520LB-FT of torque.

Although it was a little slower than the F1 GTR – it still packed a real punch and is one of makers fastest supercars.

The F1 LM could hit 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, while it had a neck-snapping top speed of 225MPH (362KMH).

McLaren F1 – 241MPH

The car that barely needs an introduction – the McLaren F1 went into production in 1992 and was dubbed ‘one of the great events in the history of the car’ by Autocar. So it was kind of a big deal.

The iconic sports car was powered by a 6.1-liter BMW S70/2 V12 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, which had an output of 618HP.

The F1 was the first production car to use a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis.

It could do 0-60mph in just 3.2 seconds and had a top speed of 241MPH (387MPH).

Although it was made more than 30 years ago, the F1 is still one of the fastest production cars ever made and close to being the fastest supercar from McLaren. But not quite…

The Fastest McLaren: McLaren Speedtail – 250MPH

The fastest supercar from McLaren – to date – is the McLaren Speedtail which has a top speed of 250MPH (403KMH).

The hybrid Speedtail was unveiled in 2018 with production kicking off in 2020. But the brand kept the vehicle as exclusive as it is fast with just 106 ever made.

It’s powered by a version of the twin-turbocharged V8 engine from the 720S, but it was upgraded to produce a whopping 746HP and 590LB-FT of torque.

The automaker says the Speedtail can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and can go from a standstill to 186MPH (300KMH) in less than 13 seconds.
