Watch this abandoned, rusted-out Ferrari F1 car get brought back to life

This old Ferrari F1 car has been left to rot. 

It’s covered in rust and doesn’t even start anymore. 

It was one of nine F1 cars found abandoned at an old lot. 

And now this beauty is about to be restored to its former glory.

The guys over at Fredcars38 started by giving it a good clean to remove all the dirt and grime that had built up over the years. 

After the initial wash, it looked a million times better.

But that was just the beginning of this incredible restoration job.

Next, the Ferrari was off to the garage for a full rebuild. 

Fred and the guys started by stripping the car. 

When they removed the shell of the Ferrari, it revealed materials that were all but falling apart.

This old F1 car then got a brand new 600hp twin-turbo V8 engine. 

With the new engine in, it was starting to come together, but their job wasn’t done yet. 

The Ferrari was just one of nine F1 cars the guys intended to restore.

And they planned to fix up every single one of them to look just like they did 30 years ago when they were used for film and TV. 

Yep, that’s right. 

Even though they look incredibly realistic, these F1 cars were actually replicas designed to look just like the originals. 

So what do the guys use them for now? 

Apart from showing them off while tearing down the freeway, Fred uses the Ferrari to pick up his lunch. 

It’s a bit of a shame they’re not going on to race at this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, but food pickup is the next best thing, right?
