This first-time buyer walked into a dealership ready to drive off in her dream car – a 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat.
She had a solid 750 credit score, $50,000 in cash, and zero reason to expect anything but a smooth deal.
The SUV was loud, fast, and flashed the Brass Monkey trim she’d been eyeing.
But once the paperwork cleared, the numbers didn’t add up, and her dream car turned into a financial nightmare.

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat price
Enter TikToker Ride With Yusuf, known for exposing shady dealership tactics and breaking down confusing car deals.
She told him she’d put $50,000 down on the Durango and expected her remaining loan to be around $67,000. But when she checked her Credit Karma account, it showed a balance of $90,000 still outstanding.
Something clearly didn’t add up – she was somehow on the hook for $140,000 total.
Even fully loaded, a Durango SRT Hellcat rarely cracks $115,000.

Yusuf dug into the numbers and spotted the problem.
Buried in the deal were $23,000 worth of warranties and add-ons – way more than the $5,000 the buyer says she was originally shown.
And the loan itself was brutal: a 9.22 percent interest rate, locking her into $1,697 monthly payments, despite her very strong credit score.
As for that huge down payment?
The dealership told her it was ‘recommended’ because she was a first-time buyer – no further explanation.
“That should’ve been a red flag,” Yusuf told her.
His advice? Return to the dealership with the bill of sale and ask them to explain – line by line – how the numbers got so out of control.

Highway robbery with a payment plan
The moment this deal went public, people lit up the comments. And they weren’t holding back.
Yusuf’s TikTok flooded with disbelief and criticism, not just for the dealership, but for the buyer herself.
“They took advantage of her,” on person said. “Great for the dealership. Terrible for her.”
Others pointed out what she could’ve done instead, and how badly this decision might cost her in the long run.
“She literally could’ve paid cash for a Lexus, Toyota, something that lasts forever,” someone said. “But she got tricked on a $90K loan and probably has negative equity.”
“$50K down? Put that on a house instead,” another chimed in.
Some blamed the dealership. Some blamed the buyer. Some blamed the system. But nearly everyone agreed: This wasn’t just a bad deal – it was a financial ambush hiding behind a shiny SUV.

This Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat should’ve been this first-time car buyer’s ultimate flex, but it ended up being a brutal lesson.
It’s a cautionary tale: even if you walk in with money and a strong credit score, what really matters is what’s buried in the paperwork.
With $50,000 gone and $90,000 still to pay, her first car might be one of the most expensive lessons she ever learns.
She wanted a Hellcat. What she got was highway robbery with a payment plan.
