After giving Bugatti an ultimatum, a Florida man is reportedly getting assistance from the supercar company to attempt one of the biggest rebuilds of a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport supercar.

Alex Gonzalez is the man in question, and he had been attempting to repair the car that had been involved in a crash.

Gonzalez threatened to 3D print parts for the car if Bugatti didn’t un-blacklist it after 24 hours.

Now, however, after an alleged call with CEO Mate Rimac, it would appear Bugatti themselves are helping out with the rebuild.

The background to this Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport rebuild

Gonzalez owned the crash-damaged Chiron Pur Sport and thought it was right to get the car rebuilt.

After all, no one wants to see a car as exclusive and impressive as the Chiron be crushed and scrapped.

However, the supercar manufacturer wasn’t too keen on the idea.

Gonzalez himself had previously crashed the car.

But he still wanted to rebuild it and get it on the road again.

With Bugatti not so keen on this idea, he decided to use 3D parts on the rebuild unless it was un-blacklisted.

In response to the ultimatum, Gonzalez claimed CEO Mate Rimac actually messaged him and offered help.

He reportedly stated that 3D printed parts wouldn’t be a good idea.

However, Rimac’s alleged message added he was more than happy to help Gonzalez rebuild the car.

How the ultimatum led to a ‘collaboration’

Gonzalez has since posted on Instagram, and he has said there’s now been a phone call with Mate Rimac.

After that alleged call, the two appear to have agreed on a collaboration for the rebuild of the supercar.

Any threats to 3D print parts for the Chiron Pur Sport appear to be long gone.

Images posted with the announcement show the current state of the Bugatti.

The front end is badly damaged, with the hood missing and extensive damage to the right-side quarter panels.

The headlights have also taken a beating.

For a while, it looked like this supercar would either be scrapped or just left in the back of the workshop.

Amazingly, threatening to 3D print parts has possibly led to one of the biggest rebuilds ever.
