YouTuber Samcrac bought a $250,000 Audi R8 supercar with a dead part, but while it’s no longer made by Audi, he had a genius idea to fix it.

Samcrac loves an Audi R8 supercar and has owned a few over the years, and he also isn’t afraid to fix a car that has a part missing or where something has gone wrong.

That was the story with this R8, but the German manufacturer didn’t make the part needed.

But as we see in his video, that didn’t stop the Florida man from coming up with a clever idea to get the car running again.

What was wrong with the Audi R8?

Sam only recently bought this Audi R8, and we covered previously some of the issues the supercar had.

It had a $60,000 supercharger kit added to it, yet Sam only paid $55,000 for the 92,000-mile supercar.

He had already fixed a strange noise and smoky engine bay with just new valve covers and a pulley.

Yet the latest issue was an air-conditioning problem, traced to a blown fuse.

However, after some digging online, the fuse in question is a part no longer made by Audi.

Having sent the control module to a company he has used before, they were actually able to fix the fault.

It turned out that two of the micro-controllers were actually broken on the board.

Fixing the Audi did not cost a small fortune

Incredibly, it cost Sam just $200 to fix the A/C system.

Another problem cropped up, however, which was a vent blowing hot air when Sam asked for cool air.

A heat control valve had failed, meaning it would pump out hot air no matter what you asked for in the cabin.

Luckily, Sam was able to find one for just $60 online, which was actually a Ford part.

That was a much better price than the several hundred it would cost from Audi.

Despite it being a budget part, it worked and sorted the problem with the vent just blowing hot air.

Now, he had cool air coming from all vents inside the cabin.

That was a big relief to Sam, who now wouldn’t be cooked by that one vent while driving in the summer.
