This Florida man bought a flying boat that had been sitting unused for years, but when he attempted to fly it, things went wrong.

YouTuber Jimmy’s World had quite the challenge on his plate when it came to fixing this aircraft.

Jimmy spent several days learning all he could about sea planes.

But could he get this Aventura off the ground?

Trying to fix a flying boat and having it go wrong

The process of fixing any type of plane is not for the faint of heart.

Much like explaining how they fly, the matter of repairing them is very complicated.

Whether it’s a Piper Plane, a cargo plane, or a Falcon 20 jet, it’s not a straightforward repair job.

Fortunately for Jimmy Webb – the host of Jimmy’s World – this isn’t his first rodeo.

He’s taken on planes before, like the 1947 Cessna.

In the case of this flying boat, bought for $40,000, Web had to contend with quite a few problems.

It had been sitting for eight years untouched, so it’s no wonder that it had some issues.

Getting this thing out of the hangar was difficult enough.

Working to get it off the ground would be a whole other trial.

How this Florida man took on the challenge of fixing a Aventura 2

On the first drive, things took a while to get going.

But once out on the track, it proved to be a relatively smooth drive.

However, it’d be one thing to drive well on dry land – operating out on the water was a whole other matter.

Repairs needed to be done, including in the plane’s brake system and with some upgraded avionics.

After taking it up into the air, he noticed some additional things that would need looking at.

Of the landing, Web said: “Yes, that’s my tires that you can hear.

“It’s kind of hard to see in the light. This [tail] tire is crooked, and we found a bent bolt right here.

“This whole thing is crooked.”

This foiled his plans to take the plane out on the water, as this would require some extensive repairs.

Better safe than sorry.

Hopefully in the near future, this thing can take its rightful place out on the waters of Florida.
