Most people would be happy with a fancy metallic finish on their dream car, but Florida-based supercar collector Kris Singh had something much more out of this world in mind for his Pagani Utopia, using moon rock and gold shavings.

The millionaire has created a one-of-a-kind luxury hypercar featuring a custom paint job made using the most expensive material.

The extraordinary finish took around three years to develop with specialist customization company Karosserie, with the lunar material alone reportedly costing more than $4 million.

Named Madonna of the Car Nation, the hypercar combines Renaissance-inspired styling with some seriously expensive ingredients.

This Pagani Utopia paint contains actual moon rock and gold

The bespoke hypercar finish, known as Lunar Gold, is about as far removed from picking a color at the dealership as you can get.

Singh worked with Pennsylvania-based Karosserie to develop the unusual paint, which incorporates crushed moon rock alongside gold bar shavings, and Instagram creator Varryx caused the amazing car to go viral.

According to reports, Singh acquired the lunar material at auction specifically for the project.

Getting the unusual mixture to work on the Pagani Utopia’s bodywork was a major undertaking, with the three-year development process reflecting just how complicated the custom finish was to create.

The idea has actually been years in the making; apparently, Singh originally planned to use moon-dust paint on a bespoke Aston Martin Valkyrie, announcing the project back in 2018.

However, that plan never came to fruition, so he eventually brought the idea to Pagani instead.

By 2024, the collector had announced that the Italian supercar maker would be the first to use actual moon rock in a complex automotive paint formula, and now, after years of planning, the result is finally here.

The $2.5 million hypercar takes inspiration from Renaissance art

The car’s name is just as unusual as its paintwork.

Singh calls his creation Madonna of the Car Nation, a playful reference to Leonardo da Vinci’s Madonna of the Carnation, a painting dating back to around 1475.

That artistic influence carries through to the car’s golden appearance, giving it a look that stands out even among Pagani’s already extravagant creations.

The attention to detail continues inside the cabin, where black leather is paired with gold stitching, patterned gold seat detailing and gold-toned dials.

Even the pedals and gear shifter feature a 24-karat gold finish.

Singh worked with designer Pandragram on the interior, exchanging reference images over several months to help bring the vision together.

The Pagani packs 852 horsepower beneath its golden exterior

Underneath all that gold, the Utopia is still a seriously powerful hypercar.

Its 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG V12 produces a reported 852 horsepower, with a seven-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

The Utopia coupe originally launched with a price tag of around $2.5 million, although its value has reportedly risen since then, and this is far from Singh’s first unusual Pagani.

His collection includes the Huayra La Mona Lisa, another art-inspired creation, as well as the Huayra BC Macchina Volante, whose name references Leonardo da Vinci’s flying-machine sketches.

With a one-off hypercar coated in moon rock and gold, Singh has certainly found a way to make his latest addition stand out, and after all, when your car already costs millions, why settle for ordinary paint?
