A Florida man walks into a showroom with a Ferrari F40 and walks out with an Ineos Grenadier and a couple of million dollars.
It sounds like the start of a cheap joke or the premise for a B-rated movie, but it went down exactly like that.
And speaking of jokes, we’re pretty sure both the buyer and seller are laughing here, because it was indeed a great deal for everyone involved.
And the dealer apparently got rid of the Ferrari in record time.

A ‘free’ luxury off-roader and $2.4M for a Ferrari F40 isn’t a bad deal
An Ineos dealership in Florida made an interesting offer to a Ferrari F40 owner.
According to the dealer, as confirmed by an Ineos spokesperson in an interview with Newsweek, the dealer decided to make the offer on the spot, pretty much on a whim.
The offer was quite interesting and fair.
In exchange for the Ferrari F40, the seller received $2.4 million in cash and an Ineos Grenadier.

In the US, the Grenadier starts at around $75,000, even though the price can go up quite quickly with optional extras.
This means that obviously the main offer was the $2.4 million check, and the Grenadier was a little extra gift – and also a ride home.
According to Ineos, the dealer sold the Ferrari the next day for ‘a slight profit’.
Then again, in corporate jargon, that could mean a lot of things.
A fair offer

We don’t know much about the Ferrari F40 in question – no details were provided – but $2.4 million is more or less right in line with market value for the F40.
Some F40s go over $3 million or $4 million, but those are mint examples that aren’t driven every day, which probably wasn’t the case here, considering the owner drove the supercar to the dealership.
Not long ago, somebody put one for sale on Craigslist for $5 million.
But just because you want to sell it for $5 million, it doesn’t mean you will.
Another Ferrari F40 owner put it on sale for $5 million, but only got an offer for $2.6 million.
