CEO of Ford has a surprising confession about the car he drives, saying he doesn't want to give it up

Ford CEO Jim Farley shocked everyone when he revealed he didn’t want to stop driving the new Xiaomi car because he liked it so much.

Farley made the startling revelation while talking about the Apple car.

In Farley’s opinion, we should focus a bit less on the Apple car, which won’t exist, and focus more on cars that do exist right now.

Just like the Xiaomi car.

How Ford CEO Jim Farley took delivery of his Xiaomi car.

Speaking to the host of the Everything Electric Show podcast, Jim Farley admitted the Xiaomi car is great after testing it.

“Everyone’s talking about the Apple car but the Xiaomi car [is fantastic]. And [unlike the Apple car] it exists. It’s sold out for six months,” Farley said.

“We flew one in one from Shanghai to Chicago, and I’ve been driving it. I don’t want to give it up.”

It’s a stunning revelation, but the way he openly talks (and sings praises) of a car that’s technically competition tells you everything you need to know about the quality of the car.

Farley later qualified his remarks on X, stating that he often gets his hands on the competition and gives it a thorough road test.

He wrote: “I try to drive everything we compete against.

“Have done it my whole career.

“Specs can tell part of a story, but you’ve got to get behind the wheel to truly understand and beat the competition.”

When tech companies become automakers

Apple spent a decade and billions of dollars on its car project before scrapping it.

Apple won’t make a car, even though the company is still filing automotive-related patents, but other equivalent companies are building cars as we speak.

Sony is making a car, while Xiaomi has already unveiled one.

The interior is better than everyone thought, and Xiaomi is reportedly capable of producing one every 76 seconds.

Cars are becoming tech objects, and they’re now defined by their software, which has also become their engine.

With that in mind, more tech giants will inevitably see this as an opportunity to enter new markets.
