A Vietnamese man built a Ford Raptor out of wood as a gift to his father, and it has the same design features as the original.
It certainly puts the rest of us to shame when it comes to Father’s Day presents.
But even on its own, this is one stunning work of art.

A Ford Raptor like you’ve never seen before
Given that we’ve already had a Cybertruck made out of wood, it was only fair that the Raptor would get a similar makeover.
YouTube channel ND – Woodworking Art shared the remarkable creation with its two million followers.
In the video, the artist, Dao Truong Van took his viewers through each stage of the design process.
As the video proceeds, the project comes to life before our eyes, and the resemblance to the real Raptor is uncanny.
The large honeycomb grille sporting ‘Ford’ is present, as if the muscular shape of the car.
Mr Dao starts off the construction by creating a chassis from metal, which he welds together.
Next up, he adds an axle to the rear and inserts the front wheels with working suspension.
Once a metal frame is added, he sprayed it black.
Then it’s time to bring in the wood.
Wood you believe it?
Using timber, he creates a rough body for the Raptor before creating the shape with a chainsaw and angle grinder.
When it comes time to make the dashboard, he turns to a trusty whittle to get the job done.
In addition to a mock infotainment system, the dashboard also has some imitation air vents and an uncanny steering wheel.
I’d hate to get splinters on a rough turn using that thing.
And just to prove what a whizz he is with wood carving, Mr Dao even puts the ‘Raptor’ branding into each of the front seats.
Once the grille and wing mirrors were added, it was time to apply a coat of varnish.
And no car is complete without its lights, right?
After installing the front and rear lights, and popping some pixieglass in to the windows, the Raptor was ready to go.
Needless to say, his dad was happy with his gift and was filmed driving it along a dirt road.
Cars as gifts are very impactful – and what could be more meaningful than a car you built yourself?
This Canadian millionaire brought his business partner to tears by gifting him a Porsche GT.
As nice as that is, I think making the car from the ground up gives Mr Dao a slight edge on him.
Not that it’s a contest or anything.
