In many ways, the Ford GT has some of the most impressive lineage of any car ever built.

Ford’s supercar was originally released in tribute to its humbling of Ferrari in the 1960s.

That being said, there’s a particular Ford GT that’s even more extreme than normal.

And it will outrun almost anything that gets in its way – on the road or the track.

Ford GT Carbon Series is the ultimate offering

If you thought the second-generation Ford GT supercar was great, then you’ve seen nothing yet.

Back in 2019, the Blue Oval marque released the special edition Carbon Series of the Ford GT.

As the name might give away, this GT has an all-carbon fiber body – and we do mean all.

There’s a carbon fiber front and rear diffuser, as well as carbon fiber wheels and wing mirrors.

Basically, if it could survive being replaced by carbon fiber, it was.

And the weight reductions are only just beginning from there.

The Carbon Series comes with a titanium exhaust system, as well as a polycarbonate rear hatch.

In fact, even the wheel nuts are made out of titanium.

This sounds great – but what does it all add up to?

Well, as it turns out – it all adds up to some seriously impressive numbers.

Remember how we made the claim that the GT Carbon Series would embarrass a Lamborghini?

Well, the numbers are about to start making sense as to why.

All of the carbon fiber and titanium adds up to a supercar that is 40lbs lighter than normal.

That means that Ford’s 3.5-liter, twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 produces 660HP while carrying much less weight.

For one thing, the Ford GT Carbon Series has a 0-60 time of just three seconds.

It will also do a quarter-mile sprint in 10.8 seconds.

But, the most important number of all is the top speed, and it will amaze you.

Ford’s GT Carbon Series supercar has a top speed of 216MPH – yes, you read that right.

Suddenly, the Lamborghini claim doesn’t sound so extreme, does it?
