A botched Ford Ranger Raptor rescue left two vehicles stuck on a beach in Florida, until a Toyota came along to save them both.
This series of events took place in Volusia County, where a Ford Explorer had ventured too far into soft sand and gotten itself stuck.
A Ford Ranger Raptor driver tried to intervene and attempted to tow it out.
But this proved futile, leaving both of them stranded – and allowed a Toyota to save the day.

This Ford Ranger Raptor tried to save another car but it was a Toyota that would prevail
Footage of this bizarre situation was shared online by Sandtow, a local towing company in Volusia County.
The footage showed both of the Fords stuck in the sand, spinning their wheels in a futile effort to free themselves.
But all it accomplished was kicking up a whole lot sand and burying themselves deeper.
On paper, the Ranger Raptor certainly looked like it’d be capable of a rescue operation, with its powerful twin-turbocharged V6 engine and off-roader design.

But alas, sand is a tricky surface upon which to drive – this Tesla Cybertruck found that out the hard way over in Oregon.
Sandtow came to the rescue with a modified Toyota Tacoma on hand and completed the rescue.

Both the Explorer and the Range Raptor were pulled back onto solid ground.
Driving on sand isn’t always a day at the beach
We’ve seen it happen time and time again.
Somebody takes their car out for a drive on the beach, thinking it’ll be hunky-dory, and before they know it, their vehicle is stuck.

We can certainly see the appeal, of course.
After all, most of us like a walk on the beach, so why not replicate that experience in a car?

Down in Australia, one tourist was left red-faced after his Nissan Patrol hire car got stuck on Elwood Beach.
There’s a lesson in all of this – don’t overestimate your car’s capabilities, and don’t underestimate sand’s trickiness.
