This guy locked his Ford Ranger – the old Ford F-250 Ranger XLT, not the modern one – in a container for over 20 years.

He did it for two reasons, one good, one not so good.

Now, 20 years later, he finally decided to see what happened to the truck.

What he found left him flabbergasted.

In 2005, the owner of this Ford F-250 Ranger XLT decided he’d had enough and locked it in a container.

He did it for two reasons.

First, the truck was being a pain to run due to some mechanical issues, and second, he’d just started a family, and the F-250 Ranger wasn’t the most family-friendly vehicle in the world.

At that point, he decided that the best thing to do was to simply lock the vehicle in a shipping container and forget all about it.

We don’t know why he did that when he could’ve simply sold the truck, but it doesn’t matter at this point.

What matters is that in 2025, after 20 years, he finally found the courage to see what damage time had done, and the answer, surprisingly, was ‘none’.

The truck exterior showed minimal fading, probably because the container shielded it from weather and sunlight.

Even the interior is in great shape, including the cloth seats, and there’s no sign of mold.

The irony is that this impulsive decision 20 years may have accidentally put the owner in a good financial position.

The Ford F-250 Ranger, which, despite the name, probably has a lot more in common with today’s F-150 than the current F-250 or the current Ford Ranger, is a valuable truck.

Collectors love trucks like this one, and while the F-250 Ranger XLT may not be as valuable as the F-100, it’s still worth a lot of cash.

The guys from the WD Detailing YouTube channel gave it a good wash, and it now looks absolutely pristine.

It would definitely sell well (and fast) in the pre-owned market in this condition.

Still, that doesn’t matter to owner, because he made it clear he doesn’t want to sell it and intends to drive it instead.
