This man figured he’d bagged himself a bargain when he secured a free boat from Facebook Marketplace – but he wasn’t expecting a full-sized abandoned yacht.
The lucky customer was one of the hosts of the YouTube channel, Rebuild Rescue.
When he saw an abandoned boat going for free online, he jumped at the opportunity.
But little did he know how much work he was putting on his plate.

This man ended up getting a free yacht unexpectedly
When this man caught wind of a free boat on Facebook Marketplace, he knew it’d be too good an opportunity to pass up.
He secured a large trailer to take the boat back home.
But once he arrived at the boatyard, he was left questioning whether he’d come sufficiently prepared.

To paraphrase Jaws: “We’re gonna need a bigger trailer.”
The yacht in question had been sitting for 15 years, which isn’t ideal.
On closer inspection, the interior clearly bore signs of neglect and carried a strong smell of mold.
However, there was potential there, with a full kitchen, a bathroom, and multiple sleeping areas onboard.

But despite this, one problem remained – he was going to have a hard time towing this thing back.
An oversized load truck would have to be brought in to move this abandoned yacht.
This was just the first step in a restoration journey that was bound to come with its own set of challenges.

You never know what you’ll find on Facebook Marketplace
There’s no shortage of fascinating finds on Facebook Marketplace.
For one group of friends, it was a Falcon 20 jet that came with an astonishing repair bill.
But that doesn’t hold a candle to these two tanks that Westen Champlin found.
You never know what you’ll find on Facebook Marketplace – and that’s as baffling as it is exciting.
