‘House of the Dragon’ teaser trailer is officially released

The trailer for the long-awaited prequel to Game of Thrones has finally been released.

It’s based on Fire & Blood, a 2018 novel written by George R. R. Martin, the creator of the series.

Scheduled to premiere next month, the prequel focuses on what happened 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

It tells the story of House Targaryen and the events that led to Targaryen civil war, also referred to as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’.

It stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys I Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, the heir to the Iron Throne.

House of the Dragon will premiere on August 21 on HBO Max in the United States, and on August 22 on Sky Atlantic and Now TV in the UK.

It’s usually quite difficult for movies and TV series to achieve both critical and commercial success but Game of Thrones pulled that off with widespread critical acclaim and impressive streaming numbers.

Fans and critics loved the first seven seasons, praising the series for its acting, story, and character development.

However, the eighth and final season received some backlash, with fans feeling it was underwhelming and lazy.

In fact, some of them believe that House of the Dragon was indeed developed – at least in part – to make up for that.

The series consists of 73 episodes in total and it received 59 Emmy Awards along with five nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama.
