This man tried to trick his friends by picking them up in an EV that was posed as a gas car, but he very quickly got busted.
The YouTuber believed that the high-performance vehicle had realistic enough engine sounds and performance to convince his friends that it was a gas car.
Thanks to the different sound options built into the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, he could simulate engine sounds through the speakers.
Unfortunately, his friends saw straight through his efforts.

How convincing is this EV that poses as a gas car?
This YouTuber decided that he was going to use the artificial engine sounds that are pumped through the speakers of his Hyundai Ioniq 5 N to try and trick his friends into thinking they were in a high-powered gas car, rather than an EV.
Initially, his passengers appeared convinced by the downshifts, engine gurgles and lurches.
But it wasn’t long before they realized something was off and caught on to the prank.
The YouTuber is busted
Despite how good the fake internal combustion engine noises were, the YouTuber’s friends clocked onto the fact he was tricking them pretty quickly.
TheDudeinBlue ultimately revealed that the car was, in fact, electric and it was the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
He told them that he could actually pick from a series of different aritificial sounds, including an F1 racecar and even a fighter jet. Pretty cool, right?
So as it turns out, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N wasn’t the most convincing gas car. But that didn’t lose it any points with this YouTuber.
