This woman from Georgia got to sit in the new, more ‘affordable’ Tesla Model Y to see what was really different.
The Model Y Juniper and the new kid on the block were side-by-side, with one giving a more luxe feel, and the other proving to be simpler, yet still premium.
Some aspects remain the same, but other features have been altered.
There is, however, one standout change, and it was all to do with the roof of the EV.

The Tesla Model Y has had a refresh – here’s what’s different
The Tesla Model Y is a classic EV model, but now it’s had a new lease of life.

The EV now has a new ‘affordable’ Model Y vehicle that is perfect for car enthusiasts who want a slice of Tesla luxury, but at a reduced price.
The Model Y Juniper is now reportedly the ‘Premium Model Y’, which marks a new era.
So, to see how different the two types of Model Y really are, one creator parked them side by side to review.
YouTube creator Kim Java explored each of the EVs, and it turns out that there are a few key differences.
On the new Model Y, Java explains that the battery is 12 percent smaller at 69kW vs 78kWh on the Model Y ‘premium’.
The lightbar has also been changed, with the taillight placement supposedly being more aerodynamic.
In terms of the cabin, the standard Model Y doesn’t have the same power-folding seat feature, but instead, the addition of a cupholder.
The front trunk, though, looked ‘dramatically’ different, according to the creator, with limited space compared to the other Tesla Model Y.
Around the dedicated frunk space, it looked relatively open, too, whereas the other was sealed off.

Another feature that is different consists of the power-folding mirrors.
These have also been lost, along with the ambient lighting features, so lovers of those aspects may want to opt for the more luxe version.
The glass is single pane versus double in the more premium Model Y when it comes to the doors, but perhaps the biggest change is the roof.
Up until now, you were able to see out the top of the Model Y’s roof, but all that has changed with the new model introduction. It’s not all bad, though, as it supposedly reduces vibrations and makes it more efficient.
The open console is also a perk, which offers more space with the dual-tone seats, but the infotainment system is also slightly different from what Model Y drivers are used to.
But, considering the price range starts at $40,000 as per the creator, the premium options aren’t that much more expensive.
Owners have put the Model Y to the test in some extreme circumstances
Different owners have tested their EVs in different ways, but some Tesla owners have gone the extra mile.
For example, one Vegas Tesla owner put thousands of miles on a Model Y and a Model 3, revealing whether they are cheaper than a gas car.
Plus, another Model Y 500-mile test also demonstrated why the EV is still a dominant force in Europe.
