This guy turned his Citroën C1, a long-forgotten small city car, into a vehicle worthy of Pimp My Ride.

Sort of.

The C1 was unveiled over a decade ago, and it sold relatively well.

But we bet you’ve never seen one that looks like this.

Pimp My Ride‘s Xzibit would be proud

The owner documented his build on his TikTok channel, and the result is interesting.

For starters, this is a red car, a color that lends itself relatively well to Pimp My Ride-style custom jobs.

He also fitted a massive black wing at the back, new custom wheels, new suspension, and a hood scoop that he ended up putting on the roof because it wouldn’t fit on the hood.

This car won’t be winning any design awards, but it certainly looks interesting, and it would probably make Xzibit proud.

The reason why the Citroën C1 is no longer in production

Automakers are having a hard time selling anything that isn’t an SUV or a truck or, in some cases, a sedan.

Even coupes aren’t as popular as they used to be, and supercar manufacturers are resorting to SUVs because buyers want them.

As for the C1, it used to belong to a segment that’s quickly dying across the board.

The C1 is a city car, or an A-segment car if we wanted to use a technical term, just like the Fiat Panda or the Fiat 500.

These cars used to sell well because they were simple and cheap. But they’re no longer that cheap, especially when they’re electric.

Today, city cars are basically non-existent in the US, and quickly losing market share in Europe as well.

There’s a silver lining, though.

By contrast, because people don’t want a small city car anymore, but they’re apparently more than okay with even smaller vehicles, considering kei cars are becoming quite popular.
