The new Honda F1 model from Amalgam Collection isn’t your average scale replica.
Crafted in partnership with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), it’s a tribute to the RA272 that gave Honda its very first Formula 1 win in 1965.
The detail is so precise you could swear it’s ready to fire up its V12 and head for the grid.
But this piece of motorsport history comes with a twist you won’t see coming.

The Honda F1 model was meticulously crafted
The artisans from Amalgam Collection went straight to the source, digitally scanning the original RA272 at the Honda Collection Hall in Japan to capture every curve, rivet, and stripe.

The model depicts chassis #103, exactly as Richie Ginther raced it to victory at the Mexican Grand Prix.
Each example features authentic livery, hand-built bodywork, and more than 1,600 meticulously engineered parts, including a fully replicated Honda V12 engine.
Two editions are available: a 1:8 scale limited to just 30 examples worldwide, and a 1:18 scale capped at 300.
Let’s just say this collector in India, who has amassed more than 2,200 miniature model cars, might be quite interested in this, given the rarity of both editions.
Both come with a bespoke display case, certificate of authenticity, and a commemorative booklet signed by HRC President Koji Watanabe.

The original RA272 dominated F1 during its time
The original RA272 was an engineering marvel.
It possessed a 1.5-liter V12 engine, producing 230 horsepower and revving to 12,000 rpm.
This might not seem like much, especially since modern F1 engines produce more than 1,000 horsepower easily, but it was the most powerful engine in F1 that year.
And now, the sticker shock: the 1:18-scale Honda F1 model costs $1,735, which is quite a big sum of money to spend on a model car.
But what about the rarer 1:8-scale version?
Well, make sure you’re ready for this, because that will cost you $28,995.

Yes, this Honda F1 model costs more than plenty of full-size cars.
In fact, you can buy several of these best-selling cars from BYD instead, which only cost $8,000 apiece.
Well, at least this car fits on your coffee table, never needs fuel, and will never get you a speeding ticket.
