Honda’s Ohio factory has gone from producing supercars like the Honda NSX to this strange yet also useful creation.

The manufacturer is best known for its performance and family cars, as well as luxury vehicles from the Acura division.

With second-generation NSX production now finished, the Ohio plant has moved on to manufacturing the Honda Fastport eQuad.

This isn’t anywhere near as impressive as its supercar. But it is an incredibly useful vehicle, and more affordable, even if it does have a very odd design.

Technically, the eQuad is an electric bike/EV and not a car, but it still has four wheels and a large cargo box on the back.

For the driver, there is a bicycle-like seat to sit on, and pedals are used to operate the quad.

Honda has said that the eQuad features a ‘pedal-by-wire’ system as part of its propulsion.

Naturally, a vehicle like this isn’t going to have the top speed of an Acura/Honda NSX.

In fact, the top speed of the eQuad is just 12mph.

However, the idea behind the bike is to weave through traffic via bike lanes, and for inner city use, not highway or interstate trips.

The bike has a large windshield and a metal frame for the driver to sit in.

Should you so wish, you can fit a full enclosure to protect yourself from bad weather.

Plus, if it is a hot and humid day, the eQuad does come with a fan to aid in keeping the driver cooler.

Honda has said that there will be two different sizes of the eQuad to start with.

These will be the small version and the large version.

The smaller model has a maximum payload capacity of

320lbs, with a 95.8 cubic feet cargo box.

The larger version, meanwhile, has a 650lbs capacity in its box, as well as 148 cubic feet.

All being well, the company will offer the bike in both North America and Europe, with production vehicles set to arrive later in 2025.

While it isn’t as pretty or as powerful as Honda’s NSX, the eQuad is a useful vehicle and one with some interesting features.
