A man headed out to a warehouse in Illinois where he discovered a secret stash of rare vintage Dodge Chargers.

Dodge introduced the Charger back in 1966 and it has stuck around for eight generations and counting.

Since its release, the Charger has become one of the most iconic American muscle cars out there.

Classic Dodge Chargers are prime pickings for restoration jobs, given the enduring popularity of the cars.

The warehouse is home to three 1969 Dodge Chargers

What’s more, it seems as though there are a fair few out there waiting to be found, such as this 1968 Dodge Charger that had been left rotting away in a backyard or this 1967 model that was hiding a mystery.

Of course, while discovering one barn find Dodge Charger is a pretty fantastic day, discovering a secret haul – including a Hemi – is really something to celebrate.

That’s exactly what happened to Ryan Brutt from the Auto Archaeology YouTube channel.

He originally discovered the stash back in 2009 and recently revisited the warehouse to take another look.

Brutt starts the clip by introducing the first of the Chargers – a ‘nice running driving’ 1969  Dodge Charger R/T in a slick turquoise color.

It’s fitted with a 7.2-liter V8 and is the only one out of the Chargers that still runs.

Next up, there was a 1969 Charger Daytona that has sadly seen better days.

It had lost its entire front clip and its original engine was long gone, which is a real shame, as the Daytona is one of just 433.

The cars are in need of some TLC

The third Charger was a 1969 Charger R/T complete with a 426 Hemi.

Its engine, which unfortunately no longer works, makes this classic a little rarer than the rest as there were only 313 made.

Alongside those three, there was yet another 1969 Charger R/T, this time in red and, for good measure, there was also a 1970 Dodge Charger.

The 1970 model is a rarer automatic Charger – one of only 337 examples ever made – unfortunately, it’s also missing its original engine.

The years off the road may not have been too kind to these Chargers, but we reckon in the right hands, they could be completely restored to their former glory.

Here’s hoping someone gives them a second chance.
