This classic Audi has a special place in Shastri’s heart, as it’s a symbol of his glorious career.

He won the car back in 1985 during the World Championship of Cricket in Australia.

This was a huge tournament featuring teams like India, Australia, New Zealand, and the West Indies.

Shastri played an important role in India’s success, and his all-round performance earned him the title of Man of the Series.

His impressive 185 runs and 8 wickets throughout the tournament were unforgettable.

But it was his 46-run knock in the final against Australia that really made the difference in India’s victory.

Shastri was proud to show his car at the Supercar Fest

Shastri took to X to share his excitement about the car, thanking Gautam Singhania for restoring India’s vintage cars.

“India’s @AudiIN – my baby after 25 years! Thrilled to drive it at the Raymond Auto Fest, thanks to @SinghaniaGautam’s incredible initiative to restore #India’s vintage gems,” he said.

He recalled how his classic car still shined like it did 40 years ago.

“Unbelievable how it still shines like it did 40 years ago when India won it.” He added.

Shastri’s contribution to Indian cricket lasted long after his retirement – if not as a cricketer, then as a remarkable coach.
