Jamiroquai‘s Jay Kay has an impressive music career behind him, but he’s also made a mint from selling off some of his exotic supercars.

His collection contains some seriously impressive machines, from Frank Sinatra’s Rolls-Royce to Steve McQueen’s Willys Jeep.

But that’s nothing compared to the profits he’s raked in selling some of them off.

It’s good to know that if he ever tires of being in music, he could make a good living for himself in the car world.

Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay has made some serious bank with his cars

Like any musician worth his salt, Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay has a huge list of musical hits to his name.

But even more impressive than his Billboard 100 hits is his extensive car sales history.

You’ve likely heard about it before.

Take his Ferrari Enzo as a prime example of that.

He purchased it back in 2003 for $532,864 and sold it for more than $3 million.

But before he could sell it, it ended up having one of its windows smashed in by a drunk chef with a grudge.

All the best cars have a gritty backstory, right?

And this wasn’t just a one-off either.

After he purchased his LaFerrari for $1,475,848, he later managed to sell it for nearly double that – $2,875,000 to be exact.

Unveiling it at Goodwood in 2014, he said that he’d been looking to make a ‘statement’ with the supercar.

And after it’d been sold, we can imagine it reflected very nicely on his bank statement.

There’s no end in sight for his car sales profits

Back in 2018, he sold seven high-end cars at the Silverstone Auctions NEC Classic Motor Show Sale.

Which cars went up for sale?

There was the 1973 Porsche Carrera RS 2.7, at $263,847; the 2016 McLaren 675LT, which sold for $199,016, and his 1996 BMW 850 CSi, gone for the bargain price of $123,622.

And that’s not forgetting the 1989 Alpina B10 3.5, the 1967 Ford Mustang High Country, the 2006 BMW M3 CS, and the 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, all pulling in thousands on their own.

Sounds like a good day at the office to us.
