Japanese billionaire set to take delivery of hydrogen-powered superyacht that outclasses Bill Gates'

A very lucky Japanese billionaire is set to take delivery of a hydrogen-powered superyacht that outclasses even one owned by Bill Gates.

Yusaku Maezawa, known for founding fashion giant Zozotown is about to take delivery of a superyacht that is unlike anything else found on water.

Project Cosmos is the latest Lürssen project set to hit the waves, but it’s not any old Lürssen superyacht, it’s a completely silent thing of beauty.

It makes sense for Project Cosmos to be named after space, as the Japanese billionaire has been to the International Space Station, so this has to be the next spaceship of the seas.

This hydrogen-powered superyacht outclasses even Bill Gates

Meet Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese Billionaire who made his fortune by founding fashion giant Zozotown who has just added a very special new superyacht to his collection.

Inspired by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the fashion billionaire has decided that he is going to take delivery of a superyacht that is unlike any other on the sea.

The Lürssen project is a whopping 375 feet long, but its no normal Lürssen project, it’s a completely silent hydrogen-powered masterpiece.

It is the first from Lürssen to be powered by a methanol-to-hydrogen fuel-cell system, which can power every onboard ‘hotel’ function while being completely silent.

The Japanese billionaire loves space and everything in it

It’s no surprise that Maezawa’s superyacht is named Project Cosmos after the stars, because not long ago, the billionaire got to take a trip to the International Space Station.

Since then, all the billionaire’s projects have had a space theme, and his new hydrogen-powered dream boat has been described by Japanese outlets as a ‘Space Fortress’.

In a very innovative and techy move, Maezawa has also opted to have Project Cosmos designed by the designer of the Apple Watch, Marc Newson, so it truly is the hydrogen-powered superyacht of the future.
